Record Grading Guide:
- Mint (M) โ Absolutely perfect in every way. Never been played and usually sealed.
- Near Mint (NM) โ The record has been on a shelf between other records. The vinyl looks glossy and clearly has only been played a few times. There are no marks on the vinyl and the whole package is complete.
- Excellent (E) โ Same but Iโd tolerate very light marks where the vinyl has been in and out of the inner sleeve a few times, or tiny signs of use generally.
- Very Good Plus (VG+) โ A few further faults are acceptable, but nothing that really compromises the record visually or audibly. A little rub, light inaudible marks, a little background crackle.
- Very Good (VG) โ Itโs seen a bit of life, but is still usable. Light pops and clicks, an edge split, light visible scratches. You can still listen to it and enjoy looking at it, but it is visually and audibly USED.
- Good (G) โ To be honest youโre making trouble for yourself here, as Good means Bad. Iโd only be selling something really desirable in this condition, with a bargain price and a full, no holds barred description to match.
- Poor (P), Fair (F) Attempting to listen will be a disturbing experience. Expect major noise issues, skipping or repeating. The record itself is cracked, badly warped and has deep scratches. The cover is also approaching death.

Wah Wah 45s make a welcome return to the world of re-issues. Having started out over two decades ago releasing dance floor funk from Benny Poole, Cheyenne Fowler and The Googie Rene Combo, and later re-releasing obscure Kompa-funk from Haitian pianist Henri Pierre Noel, they now turn their attention to an overlooked early 90s acoustic soul gem.
About thirty years ago, music teacher and budding producer Alex Boyesen found himself working as part of the Haringey Music Workshop - a community programme and outreach project funded by the local council in Haringey, North London (coincidentally the area in which the Wah Wah head office is now based!).
"Anyone could come and get lessons for free - ranging from piano, sax, guitar, drums, bass, singing and workshops including choral, jazz band and more." Alex Boyesen
It was during that time that Alex came across a young Sam Edwards.
"One day I went into one of the rehearsal rooms and there, by herself, was this girl playing a piano and singing. It was the most incredible voice I had ever heard."
Before long, the pair were playing all over London as a duo with Alex on guitar and Sam onย vocals.
"Sam had never had professional training, she was simply an utter natural."
The Haringey Music workshop was connected with other projects in the borough, in particular a community project called the Selby Centre. Here they ran training programs for young people and one of these was a music business course. The idea was that they found an artist, recorded them and then promoted them. One way or the other they ended up picking Alex and Sam to be on their roster.
"My good friend Nixon Rosembert was brought in to oversee the recordings and they hired the Islington Music Workshop to do the recording. We got musicians from the Haringey Music Workshop to play on the sessions and spent a day recording two songs -American CarsandLife. The training workshop had created a label called Progression Music and out the record went."
Three decades later and out of the blue Alex started to get interest again in the record he'd almost forgotten about all those years ago. It had become something of a sought after gem on Discogs, and there seemed to be an interest in that 'acoustic soul' sound once again.
"I got three people asking if they could re-release it and finally here we are with Wah Wah 45s doing the business after all these years."
It was Hospital Records and Wah Wah 45s founder, Chris Goss, who first brought the idea of releasing this record to the table.
"This is a really special record for me, picked up 30 years ago, from a young James Lavelle at Honest Jon's in Ladbroke Grove. Sam Edwards would go on to perform and write songs with North London's Izit, the acid jazz collective fronted by Tony Colman - with whom I have built a music company, these past 25 years. Alex Boyeson worked with Tony at the Haringey Arts Project, who produced a one-off vinyl release of Alex's two compositions back in 1991. Thanks to Alex and Tony, we have been able to clean-up the original audio, uncover photos and lyric sheets to present, with real love and affection, these two lost gems from a bygone era." Chris Goss, Feb 2021.
The project was then expanded by Dom Servini, who got heavy disco legend Ashley Beedle and co-label owner and erstwhile producer Adam Scrimshire in to take on remix duties.
"When approached by Dom Servini to reworkAmerican CarsI had no idea about the history of the original song. After a good listen myself and studio partner Darren Morris set to work and all I can say that it was a lovely experience keeping the vibe of the original but giving it a spaced out feel in true Afrikanz On Marz fashion." Ashley Beedle, Feb 2021.
"Remixing without multi-tracks always brings a bunch of challenges, getting the balance between the bass and drums in the original and what you want to do with your own version. The song really dictates certain things to you.
But it was such a pleasure to explore that with this beautiful song and vocal performance. So many ways to approach it. I just wanted to draw out more of the melancholy in the original and make it an absorbing experience." Adam Scrimshire, Feb 2021.
Perhaps the last word should be given to Alex himself, who's very much enjoying the new lease of life that his music with Sam is getting.
"As I write this we are trying to locate her, she's somewhere singing something, that's all she ever did. Thanks for being part of my life Sam and I am so glad that this small bit of that time is being remembered." Alex Boyesen, Feb 2021.ย
Let customers speak for us
from 349 reviewsMy husband has been searching for this bag for the longest time, and he absolutely loves it! Thank you for the excellent customer service . If you haven't seen his video yet, check it out on his Instagram: @djkered. We truly appreciate it!

For the better part of a DECADE, I've been looking for a DJ bag that wouldn't fall apart at the stitching. Myriads of money spent, hunting for a bag that was as durable as it portrayed, while not looking like Bowser's shell hulking off of my back and concussing people from bumps on the train.
Funny enough to find that it's a hunt that a ton of DJs in my circle had gone through; all of us relegated to using whatever backpack might fit everything, hoping that the zippers lasted longer than their predecessors. This last spring, sitting down with some of that same cirlce, Tucker-Bloom got brought up by a DJ I admire; a recommendation packed up with the phrase "I have traveled across the country and around the world with it, and it hasn't flinched."
I was sold. I bought the bag while sitting at the breakfast table with all of them, and waited with hopeful anticipation that it'd match the praise it'd been given. I'm happy to say that it did all of that, so much more, and so *MUCH MORE* than I'd expected.
The folks at Tucker-Bloom had hit a snafu with materials for my bag, and reached out to let me know. They kept me abreast of changes and hang-ups throughout the entire process, which gave me such a peace of mind from the customer-side care alone that I figured that the bag HAD TO hit all the marks. The bag arrived damn near perfect..and fit EVERYTHING my gigantic "DJ lifestyle" bag held PLUS MORE.
I'd happily recommend this bag and Tucker-Bloom to any DJ that's looking for something that's not only well-made, but will last through travel, record packing, laptop safety, extras, and will still fit snacks + a book for the train.
Hats off, Tucker-Bloom.

Purchased on a whim and I donโt think Iโve ever been more comfortable in a tshirt. The fit and feel is exceptional. Iโm 5โ11โ, 190lbs.

I love it. It is so deep. It can be a break out purse for my larger bag. It has been excellent for travel and I don't have to worry about ink stains or spills inside.

The tote arrived with superb quality and was given as a graduation gift. It makes a perfect gift for an occasion like graduation, because it has a multitude of uses and it's durable quality makes it evident that a graduate entering their career can use the tote forever.

I treated myself to the Transit Pass waist pack just in time for holiday travel. Not only does the nubbed leather smell even better than the picture on the screen. It feels comfortable and as snug or loose as you want to set it around your waist. ID & passport - check. Boarding pass on mobile phone - check. Hard candy - check. And you don't look like you're having a fanny. I actually wear mine on the front, a little to the side. Just like the medieval lady of the castle wore her keys to the pantry and to the women's chambers...

Very nice high quality back with very well thought out design essential for any self respecting vinyl collector who shares their talent publicly.

This sturdy sidekick goes with me eveywhere and keeps everything organized and within hand's reach. Zipper pocket holds way more than I imagined. On an average day it's filled with my wallet, smokes, keys, glasses, usb sticks and other random items. The two pockets arw great for things you reach for often. Mine usually has a lighter and my cell. I usually wear it across my chest but it also works like a money belt (or hip sack) around your waste which I've done on some travel days when discretion is advised. Quality is bullet proof. Another T&B sure shot.

I just absolutely love the bag. They accommodate my need of a faster shipping, just in time to take my vinyls to a gig. If you read this you should buy a bag. Youโll not regret it.

Lovely product, and is the exact specifications to pass a frontier airlines free carry on. ๐
